hey everyone stable bike again Motor City mechanic that day we got a video that’s gonna be on a 4.7 liter Chrysler engine we use that engine across the line as far as Jeep Dodge and Chrysler as well what we’ve got going on is the customers gonna complain as as they’re driving the RPMs jumping up and down it’s induce transmission to shift in and out of paraphernaliums it’s also stalling at time to traffic lights so it’s also designated a check instrument illumination which is actually a good thing now from experience I various kinds of already knew what to look for on this vehicle because I’ve seen this time and time again that’s a good thing about bringing it to a dealership because we’re gonna likely if it’s a common publication they already know about it so it’s safe some time as far diagnosing too save some coin as far as beings throw-in parts at something so always if you can’t bring to a dealership I means that you it all depends on who you get them you can get good beings at dealerships bad people the same things independent supermarkets so more than likely you have a better risk there because I’m wondering they got all that equipment to do it so nonetheless symptoms we got like we already said check in John huge that’s gonna give us something to kind of narrow it down hopefully it’s related to the concern and that’s something else where the flames been on for a while before this started having to we already know that phones hopping up as far as rpm you know that there’s also an issue if it’s stalling and for me knowing that it’s a 4.7 liter so we pulled the coats and want to go in a little detail about the systems shortly let me just go ahead and summarize what’s going on gathered the systems we’ve got TPS relate to codes three of them in general and they are all related to that and then related to anything else currently as far as PCM or locomotive controller now for the persons who don’t know what a TPS is TP s stands for throttle position sensor what that basically makes is the computer for the car the eyes and ears of it are multiple sensors one of the most important ones is what we call the throttle position sensor what that does is that tells the computer where you have the throttle press that so as you press down on the throttle this one has a cable run up to the engine the engine of their on the control body has a sensor on opposite side and as the cable moves so times the sensor so now the computer knows how far you’ve chilled the pedal where the pedal is now with that it can add more gasoline take away fuel move the timing that’s how it actually intensifies the engine technically so whenever you have a problem with that that can affect a lot of things in this case it’s causing it to cutoff it’s justification it to the fluctuate it’s it’s physically concluding it’s personal computers recollecting oh you’re moving the throttle letting off you’re moving you erratically just like that it doesn’t know that this sensors bad it knows something’s out of smash so it’s set to chicken joint so that’s where it comes down to us having to check it one of very good things I are happy to do is I can go out there and I are truly wiggle the TPS or the connector right there at the TPS and I are truly hear a difference in idle I can hear the rpm go up on here rpm was down and if it’s really acting up very well I can actually hook up the scanner to it and I can watch the live data now in theory nothing’s being the person that throttle the TPS sensor should read normal or regular straight line because nothing’s happening as you chill the accelerator the line starts changing accordingly it’s a common sensor so if it’s acting up I should understand motion throughout that motion pattern and that’s what I’m going to show you I’ve got some live data that I captured on it showing you what’s going on and I actually prove you how to supplant the role where it’s a and likewise testify you how to check it afterwards and make sure everything’s all right so with that you get cozy and let me get these videos together for you so you can see what we’re about to do you I so here’s actually the scanner goal registering all the modules present as well as the coatings now the systems at the bottom and the darker blue is the first one it’s p2 0 7 for delineate/ TPS correlation and you get p 0 1 24 TPS/ AP P periodic and finally p 0 0 6 8 manifold distres TPS correlation now the 1st and 3rd system are pretty much identical codes they accord each other as far as description the middle-of-the-road one p 0 1 – 4 TPS and a PP intermittent now this doesn’t have an accelerator pedal position sensor it just uses the TPS but either way the TPS at one point wasn’t reading correctly so now we’ve got an piece we can narrow down the search on what we need to do and we did find out that all three codes all relate to the same item we don’t have any systems that have been in there for a long period of time that begin a light-colored to be on before so now what we need to do is crank the vehicle up get up under the hood well we’ve got our data on our scanner and start moving things and see if we get some spotty deciphers and we’ll go ahead and record any screenshots we get of that liberty so here’s our live data and it’s actually had taken place in real hour as you read we’ve got lots of meridians and spikes ups and downs and pretty much should be straight across the board unfortunately in such cases we’re getting such a retic signal that the engine’s roller thinks that someone’s pressing chilling the control cable or pedal over and over so of course we’ve got some crazy things going on with the RPM we’ve got the stalling out where reference is lowerings onto though we’ve got it merely flaring up and down so there’s definitely a number of problems there you
